History of Canada !
Canada is world's second largest country occupying the most area of Northern North America. Canada has her land borders with the United States to the south and northwest.

The land of Canada was populated for millennia by a mixture of groups of native people. Commencement from the late 15th century, British and French travel around and later on established there. At the Atlantic coast, France ceded nearly all of its colonies in North America in 1763 after the Seven Years' War.

In 1867, with the union of three British North American colonies from side to side amalgamation, Canada came into being as a federal dominion of four provinces. This began an accumulation of additional provinces and territories and a procedure of growing sovereignty from the United Kingdom.

A confederation including 10 provinces and 3 territories, Canada is a constitutional dominion and a parliamentary democracy, with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is a multicultural and bilingual country, with both French and English as official languages at the national level. Industrially advanced and developed, Canada maintains an expanded economy that is deeply dependent upon its rich natural resources and upon foreign trade predominantly with the United States, with which Canada has had a long and multifaceted association. It is a member of the NATO, G8, the Commonwealth of Nations and the United Nations.

From January 9 to January 18, 2009; Canadian Minister for Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, Jason Kenny visited Pakistan and India. He said in a press conference that Pakistan and Canada, as well as India and Canada are enjoying pleasant relations and share a common of awareness on important international issues of common interest.

The minister said three countries have the technological ability, the resources, the infrastructure and the manpower to bring about a change. There is a want to give material to bilateral economic relations to perform the hopes and objectives of our people for success.

The Canadian Minister, Jason Kenny said that the intention of his visit to Pakistan and India is to discover the opportunity of growth of more close and pleasant relations between the countries for taking skilled and semi-skilled labor, for the growth of construction, agriculture, and industrial sectors in some provinces of Canada.

He further added that India and Pakistan has an enormous potential for labor force and skilled workers which is required in Canada. So Canada will intake about 0.6 million immigrants in the years 2009 and 2010.

On the question of 'long Immigration times' from the different communities of Pakistan and India, he assured them that Canadian High Commissions is working on this in India, Pakistan and Philippines to reduce the immigration processing time from these countries. He added that new staff at Visa offices of Pakistan, India and Philippines has hired to expedite the immigration process and give a relief to citizens of these countries who are fed up from a long waiting time of immigration to Canada.

Canada might decrease the number of Immigrants

Due to current uncertainty of economy worldwide, the Canadian government have recently announced the probability of a decrease in the number of immigrants to be entered to Canada.
Canada's Minister of Immigration is planning to meet with Federal and Provincial officials in March 2009 to analyze the economic situation of the country and to decide if changes to number of immigrants are warranted.

The current Canadian target to entertain immigrants for the year 2009 is between 240,000 and 265,000.

The Minister cited that due to current worldwide economic downturn, Canada is the sole highly developed country that has not yet decreased the number of immigrants. It is not confirm that Canada can still make this claim in the coming days.
Canada's Minister of Immigration has the power to amend the immigration selection system in order to increase or decrease the number of immigrants and such changes may made without any prior notices.

So, if you you qualify for Canadian Immigration and thinking about immigrating to Canada than this is the right time to do action and it is in your best interest to submit your immigration application now.

Canada encourages new immigrants

Canada encourages immigrants from all over the world to come and work in Canada under Skilled Immigration program. In the first week of February 2009, federal budget announced an additional $50 million to improve the processing method of recognizing internationally-obtained work experience and education, so that newcomers to Canada can obtain jobs in their respective fields of specialization without any delay.

The better funding will go towards the growth of a common structure across Canadian provinces and regions for the appraisal of foreign qualifications. This is an element of Canada's plans to boost labor mobility all through the country. Provincial and territorial labor ministers plan to have this agenda prepared by September 2009.

Canada Immigration and CAIPS

CAIPS is acronym of "Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System”. CAIPS includes all the determinations made by a visa officer evaluating your file, in addition to concern the Canadian visa officer may have on your file.

It is at all times a good idea to ask for the CAIPS notes on your file if processing of your immigration case is taking longer than likely. For instance, most probably Citizenship and Immigration Canada is waiting for information from your side and you by no means received the request. Or maybe the visa officer has a concern about the authority of a document but you were not at all informed.

CAIPS let you to see concerns with your application which you can rapidly deal with by communication with the office managing your immigration application.

If you are called for an interview you should obtain your CAIPS which will likely disclose why the interview was called and which concerns the Canadian visa officer will discuss with you.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will send CAIPS to a Canadian address or to a spokesperson in Canada. If you are not residing in Canada there are some firms who will get CAIPS for you for a fee.

Where Should I file my Immigration case?

People who are not living in their native country are often confused about which Canada Immigration Office to apply for.

The regulation is that you may apply in any one of two places i.e. the Canada Immigration Office responsible for your country of residence or your country of citizenship.

But if you have been legally entered to your country of current residence for at least twelve months, you may apply through your country of residence.

This regulation has some big advantages. For instance, if the office in your country of citizenship has long wait times for Canadian immigration, and the situation is opposite in your country of residence then you must apply from your country of residence.

Another good tip is that you don’t need to be lived in your country of residence for twelve months before applying; you only need to have been admitted there for at least twelve months. This means you can apply for Canadian immigration once you arrive in your country of residence with your twelve month work permit.

Except you fall within the new criterion for federal skilled workers, your Immigration Case submission will not be processed and your application fee will be refunded. You will have to discover some other way to immigrate to Canada.

So as to qualify in the federal skilled worker class, an applicant should have at least one of the following in addition to other requirements of the skilled worker category:

1. An offer of arranged employment in Canada, or

2. One year of student or full time employment experience in Canada, or

3. You must have experience (At least 1 year) in one of the following categories.

History of immigration to Canada

British Columbia (B.C.) is the 3rd largest provice of Canada. These days, B.C. is facing a significant shortage of skilled people mainly in the fileds of construction, transportation, health, tourism, hospitality, and energy. Thats why the B.C. government plans over a million new job openings by 2015.
By 2010 there will be approx 123,000 fresh jobs in healthcare, 65,500 fresh jobs in construction, and 54,400 fresh jobs in transportation. Half of these vacant jobs will be due to new job openings and half of them will vacant due to retirement.
To assist immigrants, British Columbia's govenment is doing continuous efforts to help new comer immigrants for having their foreign credentials recognized.
So if you are thinking to apply for Canadian Immigration in Provincial Nominee Program and having at least three years of experience in the fields of transportation, construction, tourism, health, hospitality or energy then British Columbia will be a good option for you.

History of immigration to Canada

After the early period of French and British colonization, four main waves of immigration of non-resident peoples took place over a time of approximately two centuries. The fifth wave is ongoing at this time.

The first major and non-aboriginal immigration to Canada happened over about two centuries with sluggish but progressive French settlement at Acadia and Quebec with slighter numbers of American and European capitalists in addition to British military people.

The successive waves of Canadian Immigration History were of Britain and Irish that were motivated to settle in Canada after the War of 1812, which comprised British army patrons who had served up in the war, by the royal governors of Canada, who were concerned about another American assault and to counter the French-speaking pressure of Quebec, rushed to encourage resolution in backward country areas along newly constructed plank roads within prepared land areas, mostly in Upper Canada. It is existing Ontario.

Within the second immigration wave, Irish immigration to Canada had been growing when the Irish Potato food shortage occurred from 1846 to 1849 resulting in hundreds of thousands more Irish arriving on Canada's coast, although a major portion migrated to the US over the following decades.

These intense waves of immigration coming regularly from continental Europe sharp in 19101913 (over 410,000 in 1913) and again in 1957 (285,000) making Canada a multicultural country with considerable non-French or non-English speaking populations.

Since the 1970s, Canada immigration history has changed tremendously because of visible minorities from the developing countries, since limitations on non-white immigrants were altogether removed. imigration levels were increased more by the late 1980s which have been uphold with slight fluctuations since (220,000275,000 annually). Currently, the majority of immigrants are coming from South Asia and China and this trend is probable to continue.

Indian Community in Canada

Canadians of East Indian origin compose of one of the major non-European national groups in Canada. If truth be told, people of East Indian basis make up the tenth biggest ethnic group in Canada. East Indian Canadians also make up the second biggest non-European ethnic society in the country. In 2002, more than 710,000 people of Indian origin were living in Canada with a 2.4% of the total Canadian population.

The majority of Indo-Canadian community lives in two major provinces i.e. Ontario and British Columbia where 60% of Indian population lives in Ontario. As far as the major Indo-Canadian cities are concern, they are Toronto and Vancouver.

The majority of Indian population living in Canada is young and bilingual. Indians feel sense of belonging in Canada and proudly identify them as east Indians.

Indian Restaurants in Canada:

Indo-Canadian community always prefers to visit Indian restaurants rather than fast food. They often have the taste of Chinese food. Indian restaurants in Canada spread all over the country but most Indian restaurants can found at restaurants Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.

Work Permit of Canada

A person who is not a Canadian resident or citizen and who is planning to work in Canada is usually required to obtain a work permit or other approval that he is lawfully doing so. Such permission may arrive in different forms, and requires sophisticated approval prior to eligibility to go into Canada for work.

A Canadian work permit is a provisional resident visa issue by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to award authorization to foreign workers looking for employment in Canada. It usually has maximum authority of up to one year, though work permits can be issued for up to three years in a few cases.

How can I get a Work Permit of Canada?

You have to produce a job offer letter from a Canadian employer to obtain a work permit of Canada. A job offer can be through any company that needs the services of a foreign person in Canada.
Pre-requisites of job offer letter from a Canadian Employer:
The job offer is supposed to include the details of the post being offered, it may be in shape of Canadian appointment letter and includes;
The designation of the post being required in Canada.
The tasks linked with that position.
Compensation for employment.
The length of the position.
Location of the company.
Depending on the precise type of the work permit request, extra details or supporting credentials may have to be incorporated.

The work permit procedure may go long because some applicants for a Canadian work permit will be requisite to go through a medical examination for issuance of Canadian visa earlier.

How many people will immigrate to Canada in 2009?

According to introduction data released by Citizenship and Immigration, Canada greeted an extraordinary number of permanent and temporary residents in the year 2008.

Canadian Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney said that even as other countries are talking about reducing the number of immigrants, Canada improved the number of new permanent residents to Canada.

Canada greeted 247,202 permanent residents in the year 2008 which was well inside the government’s intended range of 240,000 to 265,000 new permanent residents for the year. Further 79,459 foreign students and 193,061 temporary foreign workers resulted in a collective total of 519,722 newcomers in Canada for the year 2008.

The high number of temporary foreign workers discloses increased manpower demand in the Canadian labor market last year. The appointment of temporary foreign workers is based on labor market demand and employers’ needs.

Canadian minister of Immigration also added that the Canadian government will not go after the recommendation of those who think that Canada must take steps to decrease immigration levels. Canada is maintaining its planned immigration levels for 2009.

The DV visa lottery entry does not cost any money and is completely FREE.
The visa lottery program also favors the applicants and allows them to bring their family to the US.

in order to allow them to join their parents if and when they are successful with their green card application process.

For applicants who are not speaking fluent English or are simply too busy to familiarize themselves
with the required rules & regulations of the visa lottery, there are consultants offering help
in multiple languages. The consultants help you fill the visa lottery application form correctly.
The good consultancy services operate all year round, so you are no longer limited to the 1 month of the year
when the US department of state website is open for applications.
The consultants review your application ahead of the official visa lottery submission period to ensure your
details are ready and are in line with the forthcoming lottery regulations.
In addition, they review your passport photos and make sure they meet the strict green card photo requirements
and if needed, advise you of your need to change the photo, or if possible, they resize the photos to the requirements.

often disqualified because applicants didnt meet those rules.
Those who are not good with computers or English, concerned about spelling, photos or other data errors
can get help from reliable consultants who ensure their application is correct and will not be disqualified.
The Department of State will not send any mail or e-mail to notify the selected applicants.
The DIVP entrants (Diversity Visa Immigrant Program), whether selected or not selected,
should check the status of their application by clicking on to the DV entry status section
during the prescribed time at the respective pages.
If using green card consultant services, they often track it for you as well.
Please also note that whenever you use the services of reliable and professinal
visa lottery consultancy services, they will be sending you at the end of the application process
the application confirmation number as evidence of their submission of your green card application.

Visa lottery eligibility
Citizens from nations that have sent more than 50,000 immigrants within the past 5 years to the US
are not eligible to apply for the Visa lottery.
Applicants should have the prescribed educational credentials and eligible employment experience as well.
Applicants who submit multiple application forms disqualify automatically.
Wrong spellings, fake information, or insufficient proofs to support eligibility information provided
in the application also lead to disqualification.
The rules of applying to the green card lottery are listed every year on the US department of state
website as soon as the lottery opens to the public.
Please make sure you familiarize yourself with the rules every year, as they are constantly updated.

Random Selection
After the completion of the electronic registration for the diversity visa lottery,
a specialized computer program randomly selects the successful applicants.
After registering the application form, applicants get a unique confirmation number on the confirmation screen.
The unique confirmation number is important in order to check the entry status and lottery results
at the US government website. Subsequent interviews lead to Visa stamps and the right to live in USA.

maximum allowed by the official diversity program, unlike
the countries that have sent over 50,000 immigrants in
the last five years and are now unfortunately ineligible to apply.
Winning the lottery means you can apply for a green card
and be authorized to live and work and study in the US
all your life and also bring your spouse and any children
under the age of 21.
You can check the results which are published every year in April !
For the upcoming lorttery, Saudi Arabia is on the list of eligible countries
with 217 visas granted to its citizens in the previous year through the
Diversity Visa Program.
Those Saudi citizens, who were able to apply for the green card,
are now permitted to move to the USA in order to live and work
with no restrictions at all.

Non Immigrant Visa Alternatives
While you have applied for the Green Card Lottery and you await
permanent immigration you can always apply for the non-immigrant
types of visas and go to the US for a shorter period on
student exchange, business and tourism visa, or a temporary work visa.
Remember these won't give you citizen rights like the immigrant visa.

Background to the relationship between Saudi Arabia and USA
The US-Saudi relationship is one of American most important, stable,
and multifaceted bilateral relations in the Middle East.
It has been tested by many issues, including oil policies,
the Arab-Israeli conflict, and conflict with Iraq.
Especially after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on
America, in which many of those involved were Saudi dissidents,
both sides have critiqued and reevaluated that link.

Immigration from Saudi Arabia to the USA
The first Saudis in the US came as ambassadors and staff to
the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Washington, DC, in the mid 1940s.
Following World War II, young men started immigrating to the US
to obtain higher educations.

Settlements of Saudi in US
The greatest numbers of Saudis reside in California.
Other states with Saudi settlements include Colorado, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.

As a Saudi Arabia citizen who wins a green card in the lottery,
you will be entitled to all the benefits a US citizen has such as,
working, owning property, studying and living in the USA.
It is FREE to apply for the Green Card Lottery, so you can

live and work in US. APPLY FOR GREEN CARD LOTTERY TODAY!

United Kingdom & The Green Card Lottery

Overview
The Diversity Visa Program (DV program) has granted 55,000 Green Cards annually
since the early 1990's. It has been nicknamed the Green Card Lottery.
Europe and Africa currently have the largest distribution of green card winners for the diversity visa program (also known as the green card lottery).
Requirements to enter include the equivalent of a high school diploma or
two years of work experience that requires training.
The chosen winners are also interviewed before the green cards are distributed.

Eligibility of the United Kingdom for the green card program
Immigrants from the United Kingdom have not been eligible for participating
in the green card lottery in previous years. The reason for their ineligibility
is because the UK has sent over 50,000 immigrants within the last 5 years
to the USA. Having said that, this could change in the upcoming green card
lottery, as the list of countries that are eligible to apply for a green card
changes every year.
It is important to note that the ineligibility of the UK does not extend to
Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland which are eligible for the Green Card Lottery.
In addition, despite being a native of the United Kingdom, if both parents or
a spouse of the individual were born in any of the countries that are eligible
for the Green Card Lottery, the applicant can still submit a valid
DV (Diversity Visa) application.

Green Card Lottery Alternatives
Individuals who are not eligible for the Green Card Lottery can still receive
a Green Card through marriage, relatives, investment, employment, or as a special immigrant.
Special immigrants include refugees and those seeking asylum.
If you are an Armed Forces Member, an informant, a person born to a Foreign Diplomat
in the US, or a victim of criminal activity.
These ways of receiving a green card are unusual for United Kingdom citizens but
are possible & lawful ways of obtaining a permanent residency status in the US.
In certain circumstances some immigrants can file for a green card without having
to leave the US and reside in their native country through the LIFE Act.
A V visa is a temporary green card available to spouses and children of a green card holder.

Relationship Between the United Kingdom and the United States
The United Kingdom and the United States have what Americans and Brits call
a "special relationship" which just means that they have a close relationship.
In WWI the US and the UK fought together and the US entered the European portion
of the conflict in WWII. The two countries were allies during the first Gulf War
and the Cold War. In the US Iraq war the UK was the only world power that
supported the US. This close relationship began after America declared independence
from England. England had controlled colonies in North America until the American
Revolution that ended in 1783. Unfortunately hostilities between the two countries
flared up again in the War of 1812

Trade and economic relations are shared between the United States and the United Kingdom.
United Nations(UN), North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO), World Trade Organization(WTO),
G-8 and many other international organizations were founded by the two countries.
It is approximated that the US supports one million jobs in the UK and vice-versa.

British communities in the United States
Immigrants from the UK tend to not form their own communities.
Perhaps this is because they find it easy to assimilate in the American culture.
In America there are many British citizens who run businesses, television networks,
and social networks.
Many websites are available to help United Kingdom immigrants with questions.

How to apply for a green card?
While the green card lottery is a free government process many prospective
immigrants decide to use the services of green card review and submission services,
which offers many benefits including all-year applications, application review,
photograph review and resizing and automatic submission plan where the green card
application is automatically submitted every year on behalf of the applicant until they win.

Switzerland & The Green Card Lottery

Haven't you always wished to live and work in the US, a country
that is an attractive immigrant's destination? This country encourages
a large number of Swiss immigrants each year to immigrate permanently.
If you want to be one of the Swiss citizens winning the permanent residence
visa to the US, this article will help you understand the procedure to
apply for a green card through the Diversity Visa Program.
Yeah, that's right, you can win a lifetime visa to live and work in the US
through the Green Card Lottery.

What is the green card lottery?
The Department of State holds the Green Card Lottery, officially known as
Diversity Visa Program, every year, granting 55,000 immigrant visas,
also known as Green Card, through random computer selection to the citizens
of countries eligible to apply, to live and work in US as a permanent resident.
Luckily, natives of Switzerland (people who were born in Switzerland) are eligible to apply.

Eligibility of Switzerland for Green Card Lottery
Eligible countries are the ones that have sent a fewer number of immigrants
to the US in the previous year, Switzerland is currently on the list of eligible countries.
Any country that has sent more than 50,000 immigrants in the past five years
is ineligible for the program.
If you receive the immigrant visa through the Diversity Visa Program, you will be allowed
to study, live and work permanently in the land of your dreams.
You will also be allowed to bring your spouse and any unmarried children under the
age of 21 to the United States with you.
In October, the US Department of State opens the lottery for green card submissions and
during March / April of the following year randomly selects the names of the winners of
of the Green Card Lottery.

Switzerland has remained on the list of eligible countries in the previous years.
229 green card lottery visas were granted to Swiss citizens in the green card lottery DV-2012.
Those Swiss citizens were able to permanently move to live and work in the US.

Non-Immigrant Visas
There are 60 other types of non-immigrant visas for Student Exchange (J-1 Visa), Temporary Work (H-1 Visa),
journalist, business, education, and tourism which can be obtained easily as compared to the Green Card,
but these are for a short period of time and do not give you any of the rights of an American citizen.

Background to the relationship between Switzerland and US
Relations between the US and Switzerland are bilateral, very diversified and have a rich tradition.
Between 1700 and 2009, about 460,000 Swiss citizens immigrated to US, and about 10% of Swiss
population resides in the US.
Both countries are interested in achieving progress through intensifying collaboration in
areas of shared interests like political and economic, tertiary education, science,
cultural affairs and trade relations to facilitate trade.

Swiss Settlements in US
In the first half of 19th century, there were a few Swiss settlers in the US, establishing two
small Swiss colonies in Vevay, Ohio (1809) and Highland, Illinois (1836).
In 1844 immigration to the US was encouraged by the Swiss government. A settlement was purchased
in 1849 by Canton Glarus, thus named New Glarus in Wisconsin.
Other Swiss colonies in US included Berne, Minnesota, Tell City, Indiana, Grutli, Tennesse,
Helvetia, West Virginia, New Switzerland, Georgia, Ruttli, Nebraska and Bernstadt, Kentucky.
While it is FREE to apply for the Green Card Lottery, there are quite a few rules & regulations
that you have to familiarize yourself with, prior to submitting your application.
If you would like assistance by immigration experts, or simply to have your application
reviewed to ensure it meets the guidelines of the US department of state,
you can use the services of a green card review & submission service like the USDVL Organization.

You can be the next one to win the Green Card, and get authorized to permanently
live and work in the US.

Australia & The Green Card Lottery

Fifty thousand green card lottery visas are distributed every year to applicants from 6 regions.
If you are from Australia you are able to get a chance to enter the US via Australia‘s
Diversity Visa Lottery Program quota. The first question that might
come to mind when you think of applying for the green card lottery is
"Am I eligible for the green card lottery program as an Australian?".
After verifying the qualifying norms, if you meet the requirements for the program
you should definitely give it a shot and apply for the program, because the US green card lottery is by far
the easiest and most cost effective way of obtaining permanent residency status for the USA.

The Diversity Visa Lottery selection is random. The number of applicants from Australia versus
the number of visas granted for Australians might differ. While the chance for winning the green card
lottery might be not be statistically high, there are on average 1,000 Australians who win the green card lottery every year.

There are work experience related requirements, education related requirements, place of birth related requirements
and other norms you might have to meet in order to be eligible for the program. Any person whose country of birth
is Australia is eligible to apply for the green card lottery program
(Diversity Visa program), as long as they meet the work / education criteria.

You might have to show some proof that you are a citizen of Australia or a citizen from one
of the qualifying countries as a proof of your nativity to be eligible for the continental quota allotted for your region.

You were born in Australia or in one of the eligible countries.
You might be eligible if your spouse is an Australian or a citizen from
one of the qualifying countries to be eligible by virtue of nativity.
Even if you do not qualify for the country of birth requisites by the above two conditions,
you might be able to apply for the green card lottery if either one of
your parents were born in Australia or in one of the qualifying countries, you might be able
to apply for the program by virtue of nativity of your parent‘s birth.
Since the immigration rates from Australia to the US are considered relatively low in comparison with
other countries, it seems guaranteed that Australian citizens shall remain eligible to take part in the
yearly green card program. (countries that send over 50,000
immigrants per year to the US, are automatically excluded from the yearly lottery as the whole aim of it is to
increase diversity – hence its name – the diversity visa program).

Therefore, if you are interested to apply and try your luck, you should definitely do so, but make sure
that you follow the strict guidelines set by the US department of state for the application process.
It is unfortunate that a high proportion of applicants from all over the world are disqualified as a result
of improper submission of their applications, which can be easily prevented by familiarizing yourself
with the guidelines for the application and the supporting passport photograph.

If you are applying by virtue of occupation, the occupation should be sufficiently at the level permitted
for the green card lottery. Over qualified or under qualified skill levels and experience might not help as well.

Even if you are an Australian, if you do not meet the required eligibility norms for
the application you should not apply. It would be a waste of time applying when you are not eligible,
as the rules are very clear and if you do not meet any of the requirements, you are automatically disqualified.

There are professional companies who can advise you if you have the eligibility to apply for the US green
card lottery for your qualification with respect to the eligibility conditions. It is better you get in touch
with them to ensure you are doing the application process right. They have been doing it for years and
they know whether it is practically right for you to apply. If you are not eligible to apply for the lottery,
their immigration specialists can recommend alternative methods for obtaining a green card based on your personal circumstances.

Japan & The Green Card Lottery

The Diversity Visa program is a great opportunity for Japanese to get
an immigration visa from the US Department of State Diversity. This Green Card Lottery program
is extended to 55,000 people from eligible countries, which includes Japan in the continent of Asia.
Hence Japanese can apply for a green card this year,
if they are eligible as per the criteria of requirement and wait for the random selection process to conclude.

What does the Diversity Visa program mean for Japanese?
Through the Diversity Visa program, citizens from Japan and other eligible countries
from around the world can live & work in the United States, primarily because these eligible countries
have sent fewer rates of immigrants to work in USA in the past.
The Green Card being a legal document, allows you to not only live & work permanently in the USA,
but also enjoy permanent residence in the USA with benefits including owning property and studying,
which are available to other US citizens.

History of Japanese Getting and Immigration to the USA
Historically, the Japanese had an agreement with the USA in the late 19th century,
according to which Japanese workers were allowed to immigrate to USA to live & work there.
This was primarily because the Chinese Exclusion Act in USA led to the demand for workers who could replace the Chinese immigrants.
A few decades later the Gentlemens Agreement came into force, according to which further immigration from Japan to USA
was stopped. However, it allowed the spouses of Japanese Americans to travel to Japan.
The ban on immigration of Japanese in 1920s almost created two distinct groups of Japanese Americans in the country,
those who immigrated to Japan and those who were born in the USA.

Immigration Statistics for Japanese
With about 1.2 million Japanese Americans, the community is now the 6th largest of all mixed ethnic Asian Americans.
California, Hawaii, Washington and New York are the top 4 places boasting of the largest number of Japanese Americans.
In fact, Japanese roots in California and Hawaii extend well beyond a century when sophisticated techniques of agriculture
were introduced by the Japanese immigrants.
The Diversity Work program winner allocation includes more than 50% Africans and almost 30% from Europe in recent times.
Asia has contributed a mere 15%, with India, Pakistan, China and Japan being the dominant contributors.
Both California and Hawaii boast of 300,000 Japanese Americans with Washington and New York contributing around 50,000
as per the census figures a decade ago.
Japanese students are noticeably present in many Ivy League schools.

Tips to Apply for a Green Card
The statistical breakdown for those registered for the Diversity Work Program in 2011,
by foreign state chargeability includes 298 Japanese although the number of Bangladeshis and Iranians is in thousands.
It is interesting to note that for the Green Card Lottery program,
the list of eligible countries is similar to what it was the previous year, with no countries added or removed.
Those born in Japan but residing in USA and have a valid visa can apply for the Green Card Lottery.
Japanese citizens anywhere in the world can also apply for a green card.

DV 2012 Results

DV 2012 Results were announced on 01st May 2011 as usual in the internet through the American Government's official web site. But it was suddenly closed on 07/05/2012 by the US State department due to some computer programming error. In the mean time nearly 1.9 Million applicants checked their online DV-2012 results and nearly 22,000 people did found that they were selected as winners. Now these winners selection are void as per the State Department statement which stated a program error was occurred and the winners were selected from the fist 2 days of submission and not from the whole 30 days submission period. . This DV-2012 results checking facility is now available again from 15th of July 2011 onwards till June 30th 2012 after new random names selections were made from the submitted entries.

So, here by all the DV-2012 applicants must check their results once again to see whether they are selected to proceed with the winning for the 2012 fiscal year visa lottery program. Those who are not selected for this Green card Lottery program can try their luck once again this year through the DV-2013 Green card lottery program which will also issue 50,000 American immigrant visas through the random name selection.

This kind of online results checking facility was first introduced in the DV 2010 program for the first time in the history of the American diversity visa lottery program. According to the U.S State Department people who have participated in the 2012 visa lottery can check ONLY in the online to confirm whether they are selected for further processing or not.

To check your status online, you will have to provide your confirmation number (which was given to you at the time of application submission last year) and your personal information.

If you have missed your confirmation number it won't be re issued or can't be recovered .So do not try to get it again from the KCC. Winners will not get the postal notifications from this year onwards for the American DV lottery. Postal mails, E-mails or Fax or Telephone will not be used to announce the winners. If you get any notification double check them. There is no chance to get the results like these methods.

DV-2012 Official Results.

Out of these 100,021 selected winners of DV 2012, only 50,000 people will get their American Immigrant visas if they meet the eligibility.

The DV-2012 will close once the 50,000 visas are issued or will close on 30th September 2012. After this date no one can benefit from their DV-2012 winning. They can try the next coming visa lottery program.

now that our readers have been educated on the recent wave of DV lottery scams, we are getting many questions about DV-2013 DV Lottery

WHAT IS IT?

The Diversity Lottery program is an annual lottery run by the U.S. Department of State. The DV Lottery offers up to 55,000 permanent resident visas each year to randomly selected applicants from eligible countries. For the fiscal year 2012, 50,000 DV's were available.

WHEN DOES IT START?

The Lottery is run once a year, usually in October, and qualified applicants are randomly chosen by computer. DV-2013 DV Lottery will probably begin in early October, 2011.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The annual DV program makes visas available to persons meeting simple, but strict, eligibility requirements. A computer-generated, random lottery drawing chooses selectees for DVs. The visas are distributed among six geographic regions, with a greater number of visas going to regions with lower rates of immigration, and with no visas going to nationals of countries sending more than 50,000 immigrants to the United States over the period of the past five years. Within each region, no single country may receive more than seven percent of the available DVs in any one year.

For DV-2012, natives of the following countries were not eligible to apply because the countries sent a total of more than 50,000 immigrants to the United States in the previous five years: BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA (mainland-born), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, ECUADOR, EL SALVADOR, GUATEMALA, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PERU, PHILIPPINES, POLAND, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY?

To enter the DV lottery, you must be a native of one of the listed countries. For your reference, we have provided the List Of Countries By Region Whose Natives Qualified for DV-2012. Native of a country whose natives qualify: In most cases, this means the country in which you were born. However, there are two other ways you may be able to qualify. First, if you were born in a country whose natives are ineligible but your spouse was born in a country whose natives are eligible, you can claim your spouse’s country of birth—provided that both you and your spouse are on the selected entry, are issued visas, and enter the United States simultaneously. Second, if you were born in a country whose natives are ineligible, but neither of your parents was born there or resided there at the time of your birth, you may claim nativity in one of your parents’ countries of birth if it is a country whose natives qualify for the DV-2013 program.

The law and regulations require that every diversity visa entrant must have at least:

A high school education or its equivalent; or
Two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years' training or experience.
To learn more about qualifying occupations, see the Diversity Visa Instructions Frequently Asked Questions and the List of Occupations webpage.

If you cannot meet either of these requirements, you should NOT submit an entry to the DV program.

WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS?

Information and instructions for the DV-2013 lottery will be available on the Travel.State.Gov website. U.S. Department of State Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery. We will post the link for Diversity Visa DV-2013 Instructions as soon as it is available. For your reference here is the link for DV-2012 DV Lottery
http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/.

MUST I SUBMIT MY OWN ENTRY, OR MAY SOMEONE ACT ON MY BEHALF?

You may prepare and submit your own entry, or have someone submit the entry for you. Regardless of whether an entry is submitted by the individual directly, or assistance is provided by an attorney, friend, relative, etc., only one entry may be submitted in the name of each person, and the entrant remains responsible for ensuring that information in the entry is correct and complete.

ARE THE WEBSITES I FIND ON A GOOGLE SEARCH LEGIT?

While many other non-governmental websites (e.g., using the suffixes ".com," ".org" or ".net") provide legitimate and useful immigration and visa related information and services, we strongly recommend going directly to the U.S. Department of State. Forms and information are available FREE of charge. We will post the link for Diversity Visa DV-2013 Instructions as soon as it is available.

The authorized date for US Green Card Lottery DV-2013 is from about noon Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), on October 5, 2011, to around noon Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5), November 3, 2011.

Starting about October 5, 2011, you can apply online at the official Government Green Card Lottery website. There is no charge to go into the Green Card Lottery. Essential Note for Those Who Entered Last Year's Green Card Lottery DV-2012:

The US Government has posted imperative information regarding last year's Green Card Lottery at their official website. In a word, their computer made key errors, so the official results will not be obtainable until after July 15, 2011.

If you were successful in previous year's Green Card Lottery DV-2012 you have to use the confirmation number you were mechanically given when you submitted your official entry at the Government's authorized entry site last year. Remember that only you were given your verification number and no one else knows that number.

CAUTION: Never give anybody to put forward your official Green Card Lottery entry for you. It is simple to put forward your own official entry for free. The US Government does not call winners and does not send email messages to successful applicants. You have to check manually on website. And from this year the US Government will not post letters to lottery winners.
